SMA Negeri 8 Batanghari memiliki kegiatan yang bersifat islamic, yaitu pembacaan surat yasin setiap hari jum'at.
kegiatan ini dimulai pada pukul 07.00 WIB.
Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketaqwaan siswa kepada Alllah SWT....
Selain itu untuk meningkatkan rasa disiplin siswa agar bisa datang tepat waktu.
Yasinan dilaksanakan di Aula SMA Negeri 8 Batanghari yang merupakan dari segala kegitan.
